Lithuanian Animal Welfare Charity "Pifas" submitted an official letter of inquiry to the Lithuanian Minister of Transportation, Mr. Eligijus Masiulis, requesting to conduct a special investigation into the reported shootings of dogs by Vilnius Municipal Airport security employees on October 16th, 2009.

The special fundraiser, dedicated to our "Trap-Neuter-Release" activities, that started on September 12th, will finish November 2nd. To this date, our volunteers have captured and neutered 76 homeless cats (both males and females) and has released them into their familiar surroundings to be taken care by local residents.

Vilniushka, a cute white homeless kitty, was rescued about a year ago. Her life as a stray, fighting for survival on the streets of Vilnius, ended forever upon meeting Ms. Letitia - a compassionate animal-loving lady from the United States who took her home.

Education
Dog welfare charity "Dogs Trust" provided yet another opportunity for Pifas" volunteers to brush up their skills by organizing an education-oriented international workshop that took place on July 7th and 8th in Kaunas.

On June 27th "Pifas" volunteers participated in the "DogTracking" event - a hiking with dogs competition, organized by the "Aliaska" club near the town of Vievis. One of "Pifas" former charges, a female dog Kaštonė, also participated.

Education
Last Sunday "Pifas" volunteers from the Lithuanian seaside Inga and Viktorija, together with their pooches Bartas and Marsa, attended the HBH TOP DOG competition for purebred and mixed dogs at HBH Juozas brewery near Palanga.
